The online poker site’s investigation exposed a software release by Shanky Technologies, who owns and operates a website that sells bots for a variety of different games, including No Limit Hold’em, Omaha, and even blackjack. “For a number of reasons, we are unable to provide additional information regarding this case, including the players involved and the game type where it occurred,” Full Tilt Poker said in the e-mail. Additional details of the incidents remain minimal, as Full Tilt hasn't disclosed the number of accounts that were shut down or how much was seized, but the site promised that any players affected by the cheaters would be reimbursed for their losses. The e-mail informed players that the site had completed an investigation that found several users in violations of Full Tilt’s Terms of Service, some of whom were discovered cheating through the use of bots.Įach cheater had their account shut down and all of their funds were confiscated. The poster then noted that the bots suddenly adjusted their play, and he felt as though the owner of the "bot" accounts would take over the accounts from time to time, especially when people were growing suspicious. It seemed as though the bots were set mining pretty much, and didn't have enough intelligence to counter a player that was able to adjust. When this poster on Two Plus Two determined that these accounts were probably bots, he adjusted his play and start to beat up pretty bad on them. In addition, even though these accounts logged huge amounts of hours at the same levels, they never, ever played at the same table together. Similar betting patterns, the bots basically played the same hours per day, they are logged large amounts of hours, they never chatted, and they all had the exact same style of play. The world’s second largest online poker site has sent a mass email to some of its members explaining to them how the site will step up security measures in the future, including better poker bot detection.
